Goffs Oak could
hardly be better placed. The M25 is just minutes away,
whilst from the railway station at Cuffley, just a miles away,
connects with the Underground and run directly to Kings Cross station every 15 minutes during peak
times.
Steeped
in history, nearby Waltham Abbey,
(map) is reputed to be the resting place of King Harold of
"1066" fame. The Norman Abbey dates from the 12th
century and was built by Henry II. The grounds are now a
public park and have a superb rose garden.
A traditional market
town with its timber framed buildings overlooking the market square,
Waltham Abbey has as
a good selection of pubs
and restaurants. It nestles between Epping Forest and Lee
Valley Country Park which offer miles of local river, canal-side and
country walks, where wildlife abounds, with opportunities for boating,
fishing and exploring.
